Salary: USD 186,065 - 218,900 / annual

Coinbase's Developer Infrastructure group builds the systems that enable every engineer at the company to write, validate, ship, and run code reliably and efficiently. The group owns the full path from commit to production, including CI and build infrastructure, deployment platforms, and test systems. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll design, build, and operate foundational platform services used across thousands of Coinbase engineers. You'll work on high-leverage systems work with a strong emphasis on reliability and security. Your responsibilities include designing and building core developer infrastructure services across CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure. You'll improve key engineering productivity metrics such as build and CI time, deploy speed and safety, and test feedback quality. You'll own services end-to-end, including architecture, observability, SLOs, and on-call operations. You'll partner with engineering teams across Coinbase to understand their pain points and translate them into platform improvements. You'll lead technical design for cross-cutting projects and drive them through production. You'll also mentor engineers and help shape the technical direction of the platform. Coinbase is a remote-first but not remote-only company. Expect to gather quarterly for intense in-person working sessions called "surges." REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years building and operating production software, with strong distributed systems fundamentals and proficiency in Go or a similar language - Track record of shipping high-impact backend or platform systems with ownership from design through production - Strong operational instincts with a focus on reliability, security, and observability - Clear communication and the ability to drive projects independently while collaborating across teams - Customer-focused mindset, with success measured by impact on other engineers - Experience in developer infrastructure or platform domains such as CI/CD, build systems, release tooling, test infrastructure, or developer productivity - Experience operating at scale with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and containers - Depth in areas such as build systems, remote execution, progressive delivery, or test optimization - Experience with observability and performance tooling such as Datadog - Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs
