Arkose Labs is a fraud deterrence platform company protecting global enterprises like Microsoft, Meta, and Roblox from spam, abuse, and AI-powered attacks. The Detection team builds the real-time core engine processing hundreds of millions of sessions daily, combining device signals, behavioral data, IP reputation, and agentic AI classification to make risk decisions in milliseconds.
In this role, you will own complex detection features end-to-end, from ambiguous requirements through architecture, implementation, and production rollout. You'll build and extend high-throughput, low-latency services that process signals at global scale, working across the full stack from browser-side telemetry through backend services to data pipelines feeding detection models.
Key responsibilities include designing automated testing strategies to catch regressions before adversaries exploit them, weighing in on architecture and technical direction for systems your team owns, mentoring junior engineers (P1/P2), and contributing to hiring through technical interviews. You'll work cross-functionally with SRE, product, and other engineering teams, owning your services from specification through on-call support.
Required: 5+ years building production backend services in Go, Python, Node.js, or Java (4+ with a Master's degree). You must have hands-on daily experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) as a working requirement—not optional. Strong experience with cloud-hosted microservices, distributed systems at scale, relational and NoSQL databases, web/HTTP fundamentals (DNS, TLS, caching, CDNs), and automated testing design. Comfortable turning ambiguous problems into shipped, reliable systems. Experience with agile teams (Scrum or Kanban) required.
Nice-to-have: ML background (model integration, feature engineering, fraud/risk context), frontend experience (React), containers/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipeline design with AI-assisted tooling.
