Salary: USD 160,000 - 200,000 / annual
Gopuff is a rapid-delivery platform providing everyday goods—snacks, household items, beverages—to customers within minutes. The Delivery Technology team owns critical systems including Driver Pay and Pricing, Dispatch and Optimization, ETA and Routing, and the Driver App.
As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will design, build, and maintain backend and frontend services that power Gopuff's delivery operations. You'll collaborate with product, engineering leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to make sound technical decisions and shape the technical roadmap. Key responsibilities include:
• Build, deploy, and maintain production code following industry best practices
• Design scalable, high-throughput systems and extensible APIs
• Participate in code reviews and provide system design feedback to peers
• Mentor junior engineers and raise engineering standards across the team
• Implement and monitor analytics to ensure business process correctness
• Support services in production, including on-call rotations
• Participate in agile, cross-functional projects
• Champion inclusive engineering culture
You will be measured on effective service delivery, sound design tradeoffs, mentorship impact, and hands-on code contributions.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Proficiency with modern web, frontend, backend, and/or cloud applications
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented design principles
• Demonstrated experience building highly scalable, high-throughput systems
• Experience designing and creating APIs and extensible systems
PREFERRED:
• Production experience with Go, Java, Python, Flutter, or Node.js; openness to learning additional languages
• Microservices architecture in distributed environments
• Message-based or event-driven architecture with asynchronous transactional patterns
• Public cloud experience (Azure/GCP) in production
• Operations, monitoring, and deployment expertise for distributed systems
