ServiceTitan is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Data Platform team as a core contributor to systems and infrastructure powering data across the organization. This is a technically deep role for an engineer who takes pride in building robust infrastructure and wants ownership over meaningful systems.
You will build and operate data ingestion and transformation pipelines across real-time and batch workloads, implement scalable solutions for onboarding new data sources, and contribute to the design of data platform components including storage, compute, and pipeline layers. You'll develop tooling for monitoring, alerting, and data quality measurement with a focus on automation and self-service capabilities. The role includes diagnosing and resolving production issues with a bias toward systemic fixes, participating in on-call rotation to triage incidents and own resolution end-to-end, and building AI-powered agents to automate repetitive engineering and operational tasks.
Required qualifications include 7+ years of software or data engineering experience in production, high-traffic environments, hands-on experience building batch and real-time data pipelines, and working knowledge of distributed systems principles. You should have experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms, Spark Structured Streaming, open table formats (Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi), cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred), workflow orchestration tools (Airflow or similar), and proficiency in Python and SQL. Experience building and using AI agents for engineering and operational tasks is required. A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience is expected.
Nice-to-have skills include CDC patterns and tooling (Debezium), DBT or transformation frameworks, Big Data technologies (Spark, Flink, Pinot), and prior use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot) or LLM-based agent frameworks (LangChain, Claude).
