Harvey is an AI platform transforming legal and professional services through frontier agentic AI and enterprise-grade infrastructure. The company is generating rapidly growing volumes of data—product telemetry, agent execution traces, model usage, customer engagement, and operational systems—that currently outpaces the team's ability to serve it effectively.
As one of the first hires on Harvey's central data platform team, you will architect and build the foundational systems enabling every team at Harvey to work with data confidently and independently. This is a platform charter focused on leverage and trust: you're building frameworks, tooling, and paved paths that product engineers, data engineers, and analysts depend on.
Your near-term focus is establishing the ingestion and warehouse foundation: reliable streaming and batch paths into Snowflake, CDC from production systems, orchestration, and schema evolution that absorbs upstream change gracefully. The platform must handle PII correctly and honor multi-region data residency by construction—critical for customers among the most security-conscious institutions.
You will own the data platform's architecture and technical direction, including: the ingestion layer across streaming, batch, CDC, and third-party connectors; landing data into Snowflake with predictable freshness and cost; orchestration platform (scheduling, retries, backfills, dependency management); transformation and compute frameworks; stream processing infrastructure for real-time use cases; and the trust layer (quality, observability, lineage, cataloging, discovery). You'll design patterns and tooling for PII classification, masking, retention, and access control, and set the technical bar through design reviews, standards, and mentorship as the team grows.
You'll sit between Analytics, Data Engineering, product teams, and Infrastructure, transforming today's distributed, improvised work into a cohesive system. The role offers significant scope to define technical direction and build a team around a critical platform.
