Diligent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Data Engineer to design and deliver scalable backend services, APIs, and data-intensive applications that power their governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) SaaS platform. You'll work with Python or TypeScript to build reliable solutions for data ingestion, manipulation, service-to-service communication, and AI-enabled features.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop scalable backend services and applications using Python or TypeScript
- Lead development of APIs, integrations, reusable components, and AI-enabled features
- Build reliable solutions for data ingestion, manipulation, and intelligent automation
- Apply AI technologies and modern software engineering practices to improve product capabilities and operational efficiency
- Make sound technical decisions around architecture, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability
- Deploy and operate applications using AWS services and CI/CD practices
- Improve testing, monitoring, documentation, and delivery standards
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience developing and delivering production software
- Strong hands-on experience with Python; TypeScript or similar languages valued
- Proven experience building backend services, APIs, integrations, and service-oriented applications
- Experience applying AI technologies (generative AI, machine learning services, intelligent automation, AI-enabled features)
- Strong understanding of software design principles, testing, debugging, performance optimization, and secure development
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and Git-based CI/CD practices
- Clear communication and ability to collaborate on technical direction
Desirable experience includes building data-intensive applications, distributed systems, containers, infrastructure as code, observability, workflow orchestration, MLOps, streaming technologies, and modern AI patterns (LLM integrations, prompt engineering, RAG).
