Lightspark is building the Money Grid, modern open financial infrastructure enabling instant, affordable payments globally. The Data & AI team is expanding Lighthouse, an internal data and AI platform that powers trusted data and AI agents across the company.
In this role, you'll extend Lighthouse beyond analytics into Sales, Finance, Ops, Legal, Compliance, and Partnerships. You'll own the agent harness, tool integrations, governed data infrastructure, and execution layer that these teams rely on to run their workflows. The focus is on connective work: wiring models to company data and tools, ensuring adoption, and building repeatable, owned solutions rather than general-purpose assistants.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and owning the internal AI platform: agent harness, MCP servers, tool integrations, context/access services, sandboxed execution, cost tracking
- Embedding with Finance, Sales Ops, and Compliance teams to understand workflows, then shipping systems that replace manual processes
- Extending data infrastructure: DBT models, BigQuery, orchestration, production pipelines (alongside a Staff Data Engineer)
- Owning monitoring, alerting, and data reliability for systems that unblock product launches
- Partnering with Engineering to optimize dev systems and tooling
You'll work on a small, senior team with significant ownership. Problems come from direct conversations with supported teams; you scope, ship, and ensure adoption.
Required: 4+ years shipping and maintaining production systems (data engineering, ML engineering, backend/full-stack backgrounds all fit); experience building internal platforms or workflow systems adopted by other teams; production experience with LLM APIs, agent frameworks, and MCP beyond prompting; strong fundamentals in TypeScript/Node or Python; fluency with BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks; ability to translate non-technical team workflows into systems; comfort with startup ambiguity. Payments, crypto, or blockchain experience is a plus. Based in LA or willing to relocate.
