Adyen is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead the evolution of its customer experience platform, focusing on AI-integrated financial interfaces. You will architect end-to-end streaming, multi-modal user interfaces while designing backend agentic workflows that transform natural language inputs into secure, authenticated financial operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Drive next-generation intelligent customer interfaces by building dynamic, agentic UI components in Vue/Preact that adapt in real time beyond static dashboards.
• Architect performant Java backend services that orchestrate data pipelines and integrate with agentic workflows, handling tool-use, chain execution, and state synchronization.
• Set engineering standards for the team and company through mentorship, rigorous code review, and championing reproducibility and documentation practices across the AI organization.
• Engineer zero-trust AI guardrails and security/policy enforcement layers for agentic workflows, maintaining strict financial data privacy and preventing hallucinated operations from accessing critical backend logic.
• Collaborate with Product Management to identify high-impact merchant workflows and translate ambiguous problems into simple, high-velocity technical solutions.
• Own code in production by monitoring live performance, minimizing end-to-end streaming latency, championing security compliance, and leading root-cause analysis for incidents.
• Build robust evaluation frameworks, latency-optimized streaming, and observability layers that ensure AI-driven features are reliable, secure, and production-ready for critical financial operations.
• Collaborate effectively across global engineering hubs, aligning remote teams on technical decisions and driving documentation-first communication.
Required qualifications: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in fast-paced technology environments. Currently operating at Senior Software Engineer level or equivalent with a track record of owning complex, distributed web applications. Deep proficiency in Java for high-concurrency backend services, with architectural competence in agentic workflows (Python). Experienced with Vue/Preact for complex, stateful web applications. Hands-on experience with production-grade agentic AI integrations, including policy layers, evaluation frameworks, RAG architectures, and deterministic execution boundaries. Security-first mindset with a "security-by-design" approach to sensitive financial data, user authorization, and zero-trust access.
