Salary: USD 150,000 - 200,000 / annual

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Cryptography, you will be a key technical contributor designing, implementing, and automating secure, scalable microservices. You will focus on VIA's Zero Trust Fabric product, which integrates passwordless login, decentralized identity, and blockchain technology to deliver enterprise-grade security.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop secure, reliable microservices with best-practice architecture
- Define and drive adoption of efficient end-to-end SDLC and CI/CD automation pipelines
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize deployed application performance
- Integrate Web3 components and privacy-preserving technologies including cryptography, passwordless authentication, classical and post-quantum cryptography, and zero-knowledge proofs
- Develop comprehensive automated testing strategies for high software quality
- Serve as a subject matter expert in privacy and security, guiding technical decisions across cross-functional teams
- Articulate complex software designs to diverse stakeholders
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of full-stack or backend development experience
- Strong expertise in cloud-based microservices architecture and zero-trust design principles
- Experience developing RESTful APIs (FastAPI preferred) secured by OAuth2/JWT
- Hands-on experience integrating asymmetric/symmetric encryption, hashing, and digital signatures
- Exposure to Web3 technologies including smart contracts and multi-signature setups
- Working knowledge of Docker containers and Helm charts
- Proven ability to advocate for technical excellence and maintain high engineering standards
Desirable qualifications include experience with blockchain systems, zero-knowledge proofs, IETF RFCs, FIPS/NIST/CNSA-validated cryptography, Istio Service Mesh, observability tooling, and data structures/algorithms/databases.
Compensation: $150,000–$200,000 USD annually.
