Salary: USD 143,200 - 243,000 / annual
Moveworks (part of ServiceNow) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build core infrastructure for an agentic AI platform. You will work closely with machine learning, search, product, data, and frontend teams to understand their infrastructure needs and influence the infrastructure roadmap.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect and build foundational infrastructure components including distributed key-value stores, schema-less data stores, authentication and authorization systems, event streaming, distributed configuration management with hot reloading, rate limiting and circuit breaking, feature flags and A/B testing systems, and traffic capture and replay tools
- Improve observability and reliability of Moveworks systems by building and enhancing distributed logging, tracing, monitoring, and alerting infrastructure
- Define methodologies and metrics to measure microservice and product functionality performance; identify and fix bottlenecks to improve overall performance and scalability
- Lead and execute on various infrastructure projects while regularly delivering deadline-sensitive work that is interdependent with other engineering teams
You will operate at a startup pace with high ownership and work across the full stack of infrastructure challenges.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining products or platforms
- Experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining backend distributed systems
- Proficiency with Python, Golang, Java, or C++
- Experience with containers/Docker and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience working with and operating open-source technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch/Opensearch, Istio, or similar
- BS or higher in computer science or related field
- Strong problem-solving skills in performance optimization, scalability, latency, and monitoring
- Desire to work at startup pace in a small company with high degree of ownership
- High curiosity about engineering disciplines outside your immediate specialty and commitment to continuous learning
