You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services, SDKs, and infrastructure that power Speechify's product across all platforms (web, mobile, desktop). This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure—you'll work closely with product teams to design clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, identify scope reduction opportunities for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different platforms
- Optimize existing functionality to improve performance (faster loading, more intelligent parsing) through better abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform
- Think end-to-end about system design, prioritizing simplicity and reliability
Ideal candidates demonstrate systems thinking, speed of execution, focus in a high-growth remote environment, and strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers. You should be comfortable with Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused), and GCP experience is a plus.
