You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product across platforms. This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure, where you'll design clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration/UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
- Optimizing existing functionality to ship faster loading times and more intelligent parsing by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms
- Shipping cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
Ideal candidates demonstrate systems thinking (understanding that optimizing systems requires end-to-end design with a focus on simplicity), speed (quickly generating ideas and knowing what can ship now vs. later), focus (managing engagement and deep work in a high-growth remote environment), and collaboration (working effectively with designers, marketers, and PMs).
Preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused) and prior GCP experience is a plus.
