The Core Experiences Team builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify's product across all platforms. As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you'll work at the intersection of product and infrastructure, designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different product teams
- Delivering solutions via the cross-platform SDK
- Optimizing existing functionality to ship faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Shipping cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
Ideal candidates demonstrate systems thinking with end-to-end design perspective and appreciation for simplicity. You work quickly to generate ideas and options, knowing which things can ship now versus what needs time. You thrive in a high-growth startup environment with a busy, remote team, balancing engagement with focused heads-down work. You collaborate effectively with opinionated designers, marketers, and PMs.
Preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role focuses on Kotlin Multiplatform) and prior GCP experience is a plus.
