Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 / annual
Speechify is the #1 platform for converting written content into audio, enabling users to listen to articles, documents, and books at their own pace. The company is experiencing exponential growth at the intersection of AI and audio technology.
You'll join the Core Experiences team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product across all platforms. This is a critical role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product and infrastructure, thinks strategically about system design, and is passionate about building clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different product teams
- Delivering solutions via Speechify's cross-platform SDK
- Optimizing existing functionality to ship faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Shipping cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
Ideal candidates demonstrate systems thinking (understanding that optimization requires end-to-end design with a focus on simplicity), speed (quickly generating ideas and knowing what can ship now vs. what needs time), focus (ability to engage strategically or work heads-down in a high-growth remote environment), and strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers.
Preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused) and prior GCP experience is a plus.
