You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services, SDKs, and APIs that power Speechify's product across all platforms. This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure, requiring strategic thinking and a passion for designing clear, reliable systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different platforms
- Optimizing existing functionality to ship faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Building cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
- Thinking end-to-end about system design, prioritizing simplicity and reliability
Ideal candidates demonstrate systems thinking, speed in execution, focus in a high-growth remote environment, and strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers. The preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable), with GCP experience as a plus.
