You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services, SDKs, and infrastructure that power Speechify's product across all platforms (web, mobile, desktop). This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure, where you'll think strategically about API design, system reliability, and user experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, prioritize scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different product surfaces
- Optimize existing functionality—shipping faster loading times, more intelligent parsing, and better algorithms through improved abstractions
- Build cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
- Work end-to-end on system design, balancing simplicity with performance
You should have systems thinking (understanding that optimization requires end-to-end design), speed (quickly generating and prioritizing ideas), focus (thriving in a high-growth, remote, async environment), and strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and PMs.
Preferred tech stack: Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused), GCP experience a plus.
