Speechify is a fast-growing AI-powered audio platform that converts written content—articles, documents, books—into high-quality audio, making information accessible and consumable on-the-go. The company is #1 in its category and experiencing exponential growth.
You'll join the Core Experiences team, which owns the foundational services, SDKs, and APIs that power Speechify's product across all platforms (web, mobile, desktop). This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with product teams to scope features, manage integration/UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
- Optimize existing functionality—faster loading, intelligent parsing, better algorithms, cleaner abstractions
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and batch jobs using Kotlin
- Think end-to-end about system design; prioritize simplicity and reliability
- Work quickly to generate options, decide what ships now vs. later, and collaborate with designers, marketers, and PMs
Ideal candidate:
- Strong systems thinking; understands that optimization requires end-to-end design
- Moves fast; generates ideas and options quickly; knows how to scope and prioritize
- Thrives in a high-growth, remote-first, asynchronous environment
- Excellent collaborator; can inspire and negotiate with opinionated cross-functional partners
- Preferred: Kotlin Multiplatform experience (Java background acceptable); GCP experience a plus
