The Core Experiences Team builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify's product across platforms. As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you'll work at the intersection of product and infrastructure, designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different product teams
- Delivering solutions via the cross-platform SDK
- Optimizing existing functionality to ship faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Building cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
You should bring systems thinking (understanding that optimizing requires end-to-end design with a focus on simplicity), speed (generating ideas quickly and knowing what can ship now vs. what needs time), focus (managing engagement and deep work in a high-growth remote environment), and strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers.
Preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role focuses on Kotlin Multiplatform) and prior GCP experience is a plus.
