Speechify is a fast-growing AI-powered audio platform that converts written content (articles, documents, books) into high-quality audio, making information accessible and consumable on-the-go. The company is #1 in its category and experiencing exponential growth.
You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services, SDKs, and infrastructure that power Speechify's product across all platforms (web, mobile, desktop). This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, manage integration/UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
- Optimize existing functionality to improve performance (faster loading, intelligent parsing) through better abstractions and algorithms
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
- Think strategically about system design, API clarity, and reliability
- Work in a high-growth, remote, asynchronous environment with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Systems thinker who understands end-to-end design and values simplicity
- Fast executor who can generate ideas, prioritize ruthlessly, and ship incrementally
- Focused and self-directed in a remote, async environment
- Strong collaborator who can navigate competing perspectives
- Expertise in Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused)
- GCP experience is a plus
