Speechify is a fast-growing AI-powered audio platform that converts written content (articles, documents, books) into high-quality audio, making information accessible and consumable on-the-go. The company is #1 in its category and experiencing exponential growth.
You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services, SDKs, and infrastructure that power Speechify's product across all platforms. This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure, requiring strategic thinking and a passion for designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different product teams
- Delivering solutions via Speechify's cross-platform SDK
- Optimizing existing functionality to ship faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Building cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
Ideal candidates demonstrate systems thinking (understanding that optimization requires end-to-end design and valuing simplicity), speed (quickly generating ideas and knowing what can ship now vs. what needs time), focus (managing engagement and deep work in a high-growth remote environment), and strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers.
Preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused) and prior GCP experience is a plus.
