Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 / annual

We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product across platforms. This is a strategic role at the intersection of product and infrastructure, ideal for someone who enjoys designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration/UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
- Optimize existing functionality to ship faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Systems thinker who understands end-to-end design and values simplicity
- Works quickly to generate ideas and options, knowing what can ship now versus what needs time
- Balances engagement and focus in a high-growth, remote startup environment
- Collaborates effectively with designers, marketers, and product managers
- Preferred: Kotlin Multiplatform experience (Java background acceptable); GCP experience is a plus
