You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product across all platforms. This is a critical role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product and infrastructure, thinks strategically about system design, and is passionate about building clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration/UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
- Optimizing existing functionality to ship features like faster loading and more intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Shipping cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
Ideal candidates demonstrate systems thinking (understanding that optimizing systems requires end-to-end design with a focus on simplicity), speed (quickly generating ideas and knowing what can ship now vs. what needs time), focus (thriving in a high-growth, busy, remote environment), and collaboration (inspiring and negotiating with designers, marketers, and PMs).
Preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused) and prior GCP experience is a plus.
