You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services, SDKs, and infrastructure that power Speechify's product across all platforms. This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure—you'll work closely with product teams to design clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different platforms
- Optimizing existing functionality to ship faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through better abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Building cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
You should have strong systems thinking, valuing end-to-end design and simplicity. You work quickly to generate ideas and decide what can ship now versus what needs more time. You thrive in a high-growth, remote, asynchronous environment where you can be heads-down when needed and collaborative when required. You're comfortable negotiating with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers.
Preferred tech stack: Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role focuses on Kotlin Multiplatform). GCP experience is a plus.
