You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product across all platforms.
In this role, you'll work at the intersection of product and infrastructure, collaborating closely with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different product surfaces. You'll optimize existing functionality—shipping faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through better abstractions and improved algorithms. You'll also ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
You should have strong systems thinking, understanding that optimizing requires end-to-end design with a focus on simplicity. You work quickly to generate ideas and options, knowing what can ship now versus what needs time. You thrive in a high-growth, remote, asynchronous environment where you can be heads-down when needed and collaborative when required. You inspire and negotiate effectively with designers, marketers, and product managers.
The preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but the role is Kotlin-focused) and prior GCP experience is a plus. You'll help shape a transformative product that impacts millions of users, particularly those with learning differences like dyslexia, ADD, low vision, and autism.
