Salary: USD 30,000 - 120,000 / annual

We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product across platforms.
In this role, you'll work at the intersection of product and infrastructure, collaborating closely with product teams to scope projects, navigate integration and UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDKs. You'll optimize existing functionality to improve performance—shipping faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through better abstractions and algorithms. You'll also develop cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
The ideal candidate demonstrates systems thinking, understanding that optimizing requires end-to-end design with a focus on simplicity. You work quickly to generate ideas and options, knowing what can ship now versus what needs time. You thrive in a high-growth, remote startup environment, balancing focused heads-down work with strategic collaboration. You inspire and negotiate effectively with designers, marketers, and product managers.
Preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role focuses on Kotlin Multiplatform) and prior GCP experience is a plus.
