Salary: USD 30,000 - 120,000 / annual

You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services, SDKs, and backend infrastructure that power Speechify's product across all platforms. This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure, requiring strategic thinking and a passion for designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration/UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
- Optimizing existing functionality to ship faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Building cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
You should have strong systems thinking (understanding that optimization requires end-to-end design and valuing simplicity), work quickly to generate ideas and prioritize what ships now vs. later, know how to stay focused in a high-growth remote environment, and collaborate effectively with designers, marketers, and product managers.
Preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role focuses on Kotlin Multiplatform) and prior GCP experience is a plus.
