Speechify is a fast-growing AI-powered audio platform that converts written content—articles, documents, books—into high-quality audio, making information accessible and consumable on-the-go. The company is #1 in its category and experiencing exponential growth.
You'll join the Core Experiences team, which builds and maintains the foundational services, SDKs, and infrastructure that power Speechify's product across all platforms (web, mobile, desktop). This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different platforms
- Optimize existing functionality—ship faster loading, more intelligent parsing, and improved algorithms through better abstractions
- Build cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
- Think end-to-end about system design, prioritizing simplicity and reliability
- Work with opinionated designers, marketers, and PMs to ship solutions via cross-platform SDK

Preferred tech stack: Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused), GCP experience a plus.
