Salary: USD 30,000 - 80,000 / annual
Speechify is the leading text-to-speech platform, making the world's information accessible through audio. The company is #1 in its category and experiencing exponential growth. You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product across all platforms.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with product teams to scope projects, identify opportunities to reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different product surfaces. You'll optimize existing functionality—shipping faster loading times and more intelligent parsing through better abstractions and algorithmic improvements. You'll also develop cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
You should have strong systems thinking, understanding that end-to-end design and simplicity are critical. You work quickly to generate ideas and options, knowing what can ship now versus what needs time. You thrive in a high-growth, remote, asynchronous environment where you can focus deeply. You collaborate well with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers.
The preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but the role is Kotlin-focused) and prior GCP experience is a plus. You'll work on a product that directly impacts millions of users, including people with learning differences like dyslexia, ADD, low vision, and autism. The role sits at the intersection of AI and audio, one of the fastest-growing sectors in tech.
