Salary: USD 30,000 - 65,000 / annual

You'll join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services, SDKs, and backend infrastructure that power Speechify's product across all platforms (web, mobile, desktop). This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Teams to scope features, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across different product surfaces
- Optimize existing functionality to improve performance (faster loading, intelligent parsing) through better abstractions and algorithm improvements
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform
- Think end-to-end about system design, prioritizing simplicity and reliability
- Work with opinionated designers, marketers, and PMs to deliver solutions via cross-platform SDKs
Ideal candidate traits:
- Systems thinking: you understand that optimizing requires end-to-end design and value simplicity
- Speed: you generate ideas quickly, ship incrementally, and know what can go out now vs. what needs time
- Focus: you thrive in a high-growth, remote, async environment and know when to engage vs. go heads-down
- Collaboration: you inspire and negotiate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Technical depth in Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable but role is Kotlin-focused)
- GCP experience is a plus
