We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences Team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product across platforms. This is a critical role at the intersection of product and infrastructure, requiring strategic thinking and a passion for designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration/UX tradeoffs across product teams, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK
- Optimize existing functionality to ship features like faster loading and intelligent parsing by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Systems thinker who understands end-to-end design and values simplicity
- Works quickly to generate ideas and options, knowing what can ship now versus what needs time
- Focused and able to balance engagement with heads-down work in a high-growth, remote environment
- Collaborative with ability to inspire and negotiate with designers, marketers, and product managers
- Preferred tech stack: Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable), GCP experience a plus
