6sense is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Applications team, responsible for building and maintaining the foundational platform that powers the company's flagship product experiences and core business capabilities. This role focuses on designing resilient, scalable, and performant backend systems that serve as the backbone for critical product workflows across the organization.
Key responsibilities include designing and building core platform services that support multiple product and feature teams; developing highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant backend systems capable of handling large-scale workloads; architecting distributed services, APIs, and foundational frameworks that enable rapid feature development; and building and optimizing systems for high-throughput data ingestion, aggregation, processing, and retrieval.
The role requires driving improvements in platform performance, reliability, observability, and operational excellence through close collaboration with Product, Data, and Engineering teams. You will contribute to technical architecture, engineering standards, and long-term platform strategy while mentoring engineers and actively participating in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions. Additionally, you will investigate and resolve complex production issues while continuously improving system resilience and maintainability.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale backend applications and distributed systems; strong expertise in designing and operating scalable, highly available backend services; experience working with large datasets and building systems that process millions of records efficiently; proficiency in Python or Java; and strong understanding of distributed systems concepts including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and performance optimization.
Desirable experience includes building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and data processing systems, familiarity with data aggregation and transformation workloads, experience with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms, and experience building shared platform capabilities used by multiple engineering teams.
