Webflow is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Convert team, building backend systems and infrastructure for an agentic marketing experience platform. You'll design and operate distributed backend systems powering the recommendations pipeline and AI workflow execution engine, primarily using Python and TypeScript/Node.js. The role emphasizes owning infrastructure end-to-end on AWS and Kubernetes—improving reliability, observability, and scalability rather than consuming infrastructure built elsewhere.
Key responsibilities include: designing and hardening distributed systems to handle failure gracefully through eventing, streaming, retries, and recovery patterns; reducing single points of failure and sharing operational ownership; designing clean service boundaries and optimizing MongoDB data models; leveraging AI tooling to increase impact while building reliable systems on top of LLM-backed components; partnering cross-functionally with product engineers, PMs, and designers; and mentoring engineers on backend and reliability practices.
You should have 5+ years building and operating backend systems in production, ideally in scalable multi-tenant SaaS. Deep expertise in distributed systems (concurrency, asynchronous processing, queues/streaming, designing for failure) is essential. Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js, hands-on cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability), and a commitment to testing, documentation, and reliability are required. Bonus experience includes workflow orchestration engines (Temporal, Airflow, n8n), LLM-backed or agentic systems in production, or a track record of improving system reliability.
This is a permanent, full-time employee position. The role is remote-first, based in Argentina, and requires business-level English fluency and a BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
