The Computer Vision team develops the AI and ML models powering Verkada's advanced analytics capabilities. You'll work on cutting-edge projects including people and vehicle detection, license plate recognition, facial recognition, object tracking, scene analysis, and vision-language models. Recent work includes implementing binary classifiers with TensorFlow across millions of cameras, detecting unusual scene changes, training edge-deployed LPR systems, and building real-time facial recognition pipelines. In this role, you'll write clean, modular C++ code for production systems, implement traditional computer vision algorithms, train deep learning networks using PyTorch/TensorFlow/Keras, and design robust data structures and architectures. You'll collaborate in an agile team environment and contribute to models deployed at scale across the global Verkada platform. Required: Bachelor's in Computer Science (preferably with research experience), 4+ years of industry software engineering, 1+ years with modern neural network frameworks, mastery of at least one practical programming language, and agile team experience. Must be willing to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo.
