The team builds and manages the foundational blocks of ClickHouse Cloud's data plane end-to-end, including compute, networking, security, and multi-cloud, multi-region architecture.
In this role, you will architect and build robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure. You'll design cutting-edge cloud-native platforms on top of public cloud providers and automate cloud resource management. Key responsibilities include working on routing and traffic components to improve reliability and scalability, systematically improving availability through distributed systems best practices, designing security components and tooling (firewall, PKI, zero-trust networks), and optimizing infrastructure performance and cost efficiency.
You'll collaborate closely with ClickHouse's core database development team and security team to deliver the SaaS offering, and partner with multiple experienced engineers on large-scope technical projects.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems. Proficiency in Go, C/C++, Java, or similar OOP languages. Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes. Knowledge of cloud-native technologies such as Envoy and Istio. Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles (VPNs, firewalls, load balancers). Familiarity with cloud security best practices, encryption, access controls, and compliance standards (SOC2, GDPR). Strong communication skills, production debugging expertise, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
