ClickHouse, a Forbes Cloud 100 company and leader in real-time analytics and data warehousing, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team. The team builds and manages the foundational blocks of ClickHouse Cloud's data plane end-to-end, including compute, networking, security, and multi-cloud, multi-region architecture. In this role, you will architect and build robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure. You'll design cutting-edge cloud-native platforms on top of public cloud providers and automate cloud resource management. Working closely with the ClickHouse core database development and security teams, you'll help produce the SaaS offering and improve reliability and scalability through routing and traffic components. Key responsibilities include systematically improving availability using distributed systems best practices, designing and building security components (firewalls, PKI, zero-trust networks), and optimizing infrastructure performance and cost efficiency. You bring 5+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems. You're proficient in Go, C/C++, Java, or similar OOP languages, with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP. You have demonstrated expertise with Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation), and ideally cloud-native technologies like Envoy and Istio. You understand network topologies, protocols, and security principles (VPNs, firewalls, load balancers), and are familiar with cloud security best practices including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards (SOC2, GDPR). You excel at leading and shipping large-scope technical projects in collaboration with experienced engineers, have strong production debugging skills, and thrive in fast-paced environments. Excellent communication and the ability to work effectively in global teams are essential.
