Temporal is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Cloud Growth team, which owns business-critical systems powering product scalability, customer experience, and revenue growth. The team is responsible for customer onboarding and offboarding, billing and metering, cloud marketplace integrations, customer-facing usage and cost reporting, and account data integrations that keep revenue systems synchronized across the business.
In this role, you will lead technical direction and build systems that directly impact Temporal's revenue engine and customer journey. You'll partner closely with engineers, product managers, finance, revenue operations, support, and sales to design resilient architectures, drive cross-functional execution, and raise the reliability and scalability bar for billing, metering, and customer lifecycle platforms.
Key responsibilities include: owning end-to-end technical design and delivery for services powering customer acquisition and revenue operations; defining and evolving system architecture for high-throughput, fault-tolerant metering and billing pipelines; partnering with Finance, RevOps, and Sales to translate business needs into robust, scalable systems; building account lifecycle flows from acquisition through activation, expansion, billing, and offboarding; owning integrations and pipelines that reconcile control-plane state with CRM, support, analytics, and BI systems; designing customer-facing usage and cost transparency APIs with strong accuracy and latency guarantees; building distributed data systems with strong correctness guarantees and comprehensive monitoring; setting quality standards through code reviews and design reviews; mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of ownership; and identifying opportunities to streamline customer flows through automation and platform improvements.
The primary technology stack includes Go, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redshift, S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, Kinesis, Firehose, Kubernetes, Metronome, Stripe, Salesforce, Segment, and cloud marketplace APIs. This is a high-leverage role for someone who enjoys owning ambiguous problems and building durable systems that scale with the business.
