Cyberhaven is building data security infrastructure that traces how data flows across organizations. This role focuses on developing and maintaining a critical browser extension that provides visibility and control at the point where users interact with web applications.
You will design, build, and maintain a robust browser extension for Chrome, Edge, and other major browsers using Manifest V3 and modern APIs. Key responsibilities include implementing features that securely interact with web content and backend services while ensuring compliance with security best practices, optimizing performance and reliability across diverse environments, and working closely with endpoint agent and backend teams to ensure tight integration.
You should have extensive experience in software engineering with strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills, comfort inspecting third-party web applications (network traffic, DOM structure, client-side code), and the ability to learn new technologies quickly as browser extension platforms evolve. You'll focus on correctness, performance, and reliability of background processes while maintaining excellent communication and the ability to work self-sufficiently with minimal direction.
Bonus qualifications include hands-on experience building or maintaining browser extensions (Manifest V3 strongly preferred), understanding of browser extension security models (permissions, CSP, isolated worlds, safe communication), and experience building cybersecurity products like DLP or DSPM tools.
Cyberhaven is backed by $250M from leading investors including Khosla and Redpoint, with a team that includes leaders from CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, Meta, and Google. The company is focused on protecting workflows in the agentic enterprise era.
