Chainalysis is the blockchain data platform trusted by organizations worldwide to investigate illicit activity, manage risk, and develop innovative solutions. The Protocols team delivers high-quality, low-latency blockchain datasets that serve as the foundation for Chainalysis' investigation, compliance, and security products, currently supporting 30+ blockchains. In this role, you will architect and evolve scalable, reliable, and performant systems for ingesting and parsing complex blockchain data. You'll leverage AI-native engineering workflows (LLMs, automated agents) to increase team velocity and code quality, while providing blockchain protocol expertise (EVM, UTXO, etc.) to the team and cross-functional stakeholders. You'll manage the full software development lifecycle, including production monitoring, debugging, and maintaining reliability of pipelines and services. You'll work closely with Product Managers to ensure datasets meet evolving crypto ecosystem needs and guide junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design docs, and technical mentorship. Required qualifications: 5+ years building distributed systems or data-intensive applications; bias to ship with ability to iterate quickly; demonstrated ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools while maintaining reliable, maintainable code; deep understanding and experience with at least one blockchain protocol. Desirable experience includes knowledge of non-EVM chains (Solana, TON, Sui), indexing and ETL at scale (Spark/Databricks), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Kubernetes, and open-source blockchain contributions. Tech stack: Java, TypeScript, Spark, Databricks, PostgreSQL, AWS (Serverless & EKS), Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions. AI fluency is core to how Chainalysis measures performance. The company views AI not as a feature but as a new way of working—turning instructions into work done. Employees are expected to take ownership of AI output quality, develop AI capabilities independently, bring ideas, and collaborate across teams to reinvent workflows.
