As a Senior Software Engineer on the Billing & Identity team, you will design and build critical financial systems and consumer-facing billing products. Your responsibilities include:
- Design and implement report interfaces and data feeds for downstream financial systems, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
- Develop consumer software products for billing and pricing features using Golang and Python, translating technical design and product requirements into scalable solutions.
- Improve software quality through thoughtful code reviews, comprehensive testing, careful rollout strategies, monitoring, and proactive optimization.
- Establish best practices for continuous integration and deployment, enabling weekly releases with clean rollback processes.
- Track system KPIs, revenue impact, response times, and latency to drive data-informed recommendations for continuous improvement.
You bring a Master's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5+ years of software engineering experience. Required expertise includes:
- Proficiency in Python and GoLang
- Strong database and storage knowledge (SQL, Hive, Presto, DynamoDB, S3)
- Mastery of development tools (VIM, Git, shell scripting)
- Experience building highly scalable, performant systems
- Ability to apply computer science algorithms and patterns to production systems
- Expertise designing distributed systems with clear partition tolerance, consistency, and availability guarantees
The role is hybrid, requiring 4 days per week in the San Francisco office (Fremont St location), with Tuesday designated as the work-from-home day.
