Kela Technologies is a defense technology startup building next-generation command & control (C2) systems that fuse sensors and AI to detect and neutralize aerial threats in real time. The Base Protection team focuses on defending military installations against hostile drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will own and evolve the backend architecture of real-time C2 systems, with a focus on high availability, low latency, and resilience in field conditions. Your responsibilities include: • Design and maintain backend systems that process sensor data and drone telemetry at scale, ensuring sub-second latency and 99.9%+ uptime in mission-critical environments. • Build and improve automated sensor and drone control pipelines, from raw data ingestion through sensor fusion to actionable threat intelligence. • Integrate new hardware platforms—radars, cameras, drones, counter-drone systems—by translating vendor protocols into reliable, real-time data streams. • Harden systems for unattended operation across on-premises, edge computing, and cloud environments, with emphasis on resilience and security. • Own problems end-to-end: from initial field reports through root cause analysis and production deployment. • Collaborate with hardware engineers, data scientists, and product teams to translate defense requirements into robust software solutions. You will work with cutting-edge technologies in real-time systems, distributed computing, and sensor fusion. The role demands strong systems thinking, experience with low-latency architectures, and a commitment to reliability in high-stakes environments.
