Paytm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build robust, scalable backend systems. You will work on server-side development using modern technologies and architectural patterns, contributing to systems that handle high transaction volumes and demanding performance requirements.
You will be responsible for architecting and implementing microservices, optimizing API and storage layer performance, and ensuring system reliability at scale. This role involves hands-on development with a focus on software design principles, system design, and scalable architecture. You may also explore emerging technologies like Generative AI and Agentic AI to enhance development workflows and product capabilities.
Key areas of focus include building resilient backend services, managing data consistency across distributed systems, and mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent
- 3–6 years of professional experience in server-side development
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
- Solid understanding of software design principles, system design, and scalable architecture
- Hands-on experience with RDBMS, message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ), caching layers (Redis/Aerospike), and AWS
- Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning and scaling at API and storage layers
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Exposure to Generative AI, Agentic AI, or AI-powered development tools is a plus
- Node.js experience is a plus
