As Senior Software Engineer for Backend & Systems, you will architect and build backend services and APIs capable of handling large-scale traffic and real-time data. You'll design distributed systems including microservices, message queues, caching layers, orchestration, Kubernetes deployments, and cloud infrastructure. Your responsibilities include ensuring system scale, performance, reliability, security, and observability through comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting.
You'll collaborate across product, front-end, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and define best practices for code quality, deployment, infrastructure, and system operations.
Required experience includes 3+ years as a backend or full-stack software engineer. The role demands deep expertise across a modern tech stack: Rust backend services, Scala streaming pipelines, Python batch processing, TypeScript microservices, and advanced SQL (analytical queries, window functions, CTEs, JSON). You should be proficient with Postgres internals (WAL, TOAST, EXPLAIN), CDC via logical replication, sub-millisecond latency optimization, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform. Kubernetes deployments, AWS RDS, and Nix development environments are expected. Additional skills include Tokio/Axum/SQLx frameworks, Flink/Kafka streaming, Pandas/NumPy/SciPy data libraries, Node.js/REST/gRPC, asynchronous programming patterns, synchronization primitives, and comprehensive testing methodologies (BDD, TDD, unit, integration, data QA).
