Aalyria is a leading aerospace technology company specializing in laser communications and software-defined networking platforms for satellite and airborne mesh networks. The company, which acquired technology from Google, is at the forefront of cislunar and deep-space communications innovation.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the core Spacetime engineering team. This role focuses on designing and maintaining the data models and APIs that form the foundation of how complex communications networks are represented and evolved. You will work on systems that every other team in the company builds upon, playing a central role in shaping core product architecture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and evolve core data models for complex communications networks
- Design, build, and operate APIs through which users and systems interact with Spacetime
- Develop durable abstractions for heterogeneous physical and logical networks
- Maintain quality, compatibility, consistency, and performance of core product models and interfaces
- Manage project priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Design, build, test, and operate production systems
You will work alongside seasoned engineers from top-tier tech companies. The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering fundamentals, a track record of designing production-grade interfaces, and the adaptability to tackle new challenges as both you and the company grow.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 8+ years experience designing and developing production software systems
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including system design, testing, and debugging
- Experience designing durable APIs, schemas, or domain models
- Experience evolving production interfaces while maintaining compatibility
- Proficiency in Golang, C/C++, Rust, or Java
