Salary: PLN 308,000 - 428,000 / annual
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, offering buy-now-pay-later solutions without hidden fees or compounding interest. The Recoveries team, part of the Repayments area, builds a robust platform to maximize recovery of charged-off loans while detecting and minimizing discrepancies with business partner systems.
In this role, you will own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems while ensuring team support throughout delivery. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, design, and analytics teams during ideation, articulating technical constraints and partnering on decisions that balance risks and trade-offs.
Key responsibilities include proactively identifying and solving project, process, technology, and business issues; supporting operations and availability of team artifacts through metrics creation and monitoring; fostering a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards; and developing talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. Experience with batch processing, asynchronous workloads, scheduled jobs, backfills, and large-scale data processing is essential, with strong focus on correctness, observability, and failure handling. You should be proficient at making significant changes in large codebases and have developed tools and practices enabling safe, efficient work. Strong verbal and written communication skills supporting global team collaboration are critical.
