As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Money Movement team, you'll design, maintain, and evolve the backend services and APIs that power Phantom Cash's blockchain connectivity. You'll work on systems that handle critical financial transactions across multiple blockchains (Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, Bitcoin), balancing reliability, quality, and speed at scale.
Key responsibilities include architecting and maintaining backend services, designing REST APIs with proper versioning and authentication, implementing event-driven systems with queues and retries, and ensuring distributed-systems reliability. You'll communicate across engineering pods, document rigorously, and mentor other engineers to elevate the engineering bar.
Required qualifications: BS in Computer Science or equivalent; pragmatic engineering mindset focused on user impact; strong Node.js/NestJS experience at scale; expertise in REST API architecture, event-driven design, and distributed-systems fundamentals; full-stack awareness of client-server trade-offs.
Nice-to-have skills include Kubernetes/AWS operations, CI/CD and observability experience, deep crypto ecosystem knowledge, smart-contract understanding, and prior experience shipping high-quality products in mature engineering organizations.
