GetYourGuide is the global marketplace leader for travel experiences, with over 150 million bookings since 2009. The company operates from Berlin with 17 offices worldwide and a team of 800+ travel experts and technologists.
You will join the Marketplace team, which shapes global travel experiences through technology. Working in cross-functional mission teams alongside backend engineers, full-stack engineers, mobile engineers, data engineers, product managers, and designers, you'll build infrastructure and features that enable customers to book unforgettable experiences and help partners expand their businesses.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing efficient, scalable solutions for the marketplace platform
- Collaborating with engineers, designers, and analysts on feature development
- Designing, launching, and iterating on A/B experiments to drive customer learning
- Maintaining high code quality standards and continuously improving systems and processes
- Mentoring team members and participating in hiring
- Contributing to team roadmap and long-term strategy
- Working with technologies including Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, Node.js, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Kafka, and Kubernetes
You bring 6+ years of software development experience with deep expertise in Java and web application development using component-based frameworks. You have experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications and services, writing tests, and turning ideas into fast, reliable, maintainable code. You're a positive, proactive team player with customer-centric prioritization, data-driven decision-making skills, and excellent English communication abilities. You demonstrate mature judgment in adopting AI tools and can lead teams in evaluating new technologies while maintaining quality and security standards.
Bonus experience includes Node.js/Vue.js, A/B testing and event-based analytics, e-commerce background, or startup environment exposure.
