Redi.Health, founded in 2021, is building a digital health platform that connects patients with chronic diseases to pharmaceutical manufacturers, providing financial assistance, medication adherence support, education, and condition-management tools. In this Senior Backend Engineer role, you will own meaningful pieces of the platform and see your work reach patients directly. You'll design, develop, and deploy backend services using Ruby on Rails, architecting scalable systems and databases to support growing user demands. Key responsibilities include collaborating with product managers and front-end engineers to translate requirements into tested code, implementing features with attention to performance and reliability, leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery, participating in code reviews, mentoring peers, expanding automated test coverage, maintaining CI/CD pipeline health, troubleshooting production issues, and owning integrations with pharmaceutical partners, hubs, and pharmacies. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical work experience - 5+ years of backend software development experience - Proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails framework - Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL), including schema design and efficient query writing - Experience designing and consuming JSON APIs - Experience with backend testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines - Experience building background jobs with Redis and Sidekiq - Strong understanding of security (PHI, authentication, safe production changes) - Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills - Clear communicator who articulates technical decisions and trade-offs
