Maisa is building agentic process automation for enterprises—combining AI-driven reasoning with deterministic execution to automate complex, decision-heavy workflows that traditional automation and GenAI alone cannot reliably handle. The company is early-stage, well-funded ($25M seed round from Creandum, Forgepoint, NFX, Village Global), and scaling rapidly with significant enterprise traction.
As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you'll own meaningful product features end-to-end within a microservices architecture. You'll design, build, and maintain backend services in Go and Python deployed on Kubernetes, working across the full delivery lifecycle from technical design through production iteration. You'll collaborate closely with product, QA, cross-functional engineers, and client-facing teams to translate requirements into reliable, scalable solutions. Your responsibilities include writing clean, well-tested production code; contributing to architectural decisions; maintaining and improving client implementations; and helping raise the technical bar as the team grows.
You'll have direct visibility into real-world impact—working with major multinational organizations on genuinely differentiated technology that solves enterprise AI challenges. The role is fully remote with optional office visits to Madrid, Barcelona, or Valencia.
Required: 7+ years of backend-focused software engineering; production experience with Go and Python; strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems; hands-on experience with Kafka or similar message queues; familiarity with Redis and MongoDB; production Kubernetes and containerized services; AWS and GitHub Actions CI/CD; comfort in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with high ownership; strong communication skills.
Nice to have: hands-on AI/ML systems, LLM integration, or agentic workflows; vector databases or RAG; early-stage startup experience; security architecture or SRE background.
