The Backend Engineering team sits at the core of Harmonic's product, owning the data infrastructure that powers company intelligence, funding activity tracking, and people data. This is not just pipeline work—the team owns both the data layer and how it surfaces in the product, from new fields in the console to entirely new customer-facing features.
You will architect and operate large-scale data ingestion pipelines that continuously improve Harmonic's understanding of startups, investors, and market activity. You'll own the data quality bar (coverage, freshness, accuracy), identify new data sources and ingestion techniques, and drive the evolution toward LLM-powered agentic extraction and reconciliation workflows. You'll work across the full stack—backend services, databases, search indices, GraphQL APIs—to bring structured data to life in the product and ship new features when opportunities emerge.
You'll partner closely with GTM, Product, and Design teams as new data products launch to customers. This role requires someone who thinks in systems (data models, indexing strategies, serving paths under load), has real product sense (understanding what data matters and how users will consume it), and has spent significant time wrangling messy, real-world data into reliable, structured form. Experience with LLM-powered extraction, search systems, agentic workflows, or venture capital / private markets data is a plus.
