As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, you will take ownership of automated reliability testing and chaos engineering at the core of Camunda 8. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and executing automated chaos experiments and reliability tests that validate the platform under real-world scenarios. You will investigate, root-cause, and debug potential failures or performance regressions in Java-based products. Key responsibilities include: - Design and execute automated chaos experiments and reliability tests - Investigate and debug failures and performance regressions - Improve existing load testing, chaos engineering, and observability infrastructure - Work with technologies including Java, Go, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Grafana - Introduce new tooling and approaches for reliability testing - Collaborate with QA and cross-functional engineering teams - Share learnings through documentation and influence team roadmaps - Champion pragmatic, autonomous software design approaches - Advocate for user-centric reliability through hands-on product understanding Success metrics include delivering end-to-end concrete tasks such as designing reproducible load tests that reduce feedback loops, integrate into the development lifecycle, and enable engineers to extend the tooling.
